As we begin the process of migrating customers over to the updated Discovery Education Integration, we’d like to take a few minutes to point out some changes that you may notice.
New Content Types
With the upgrade, customers will receive access to a much wider variety of resource types through their Discovery Education Integration. Previously, only videos were accessible through MediaCAST. However, now, audio recordings, images, animations, interactive maps, sound effects and much more will also be available. This increase in resource types will have a noticeable impact on the amount of Discovery Education Content available through MediaCAST, previously about 6,000 resources were available, and now the number is just over 43,000.
With the update to Discovery Education Integration, all resources now include thumbnails. This will make it easier for you to decide which file you are looking for at-a-glance.
Filter by Category
Resources relating to common categories such as math, science, social studies, language arts and more can now be filtered using the search tools found within MediaCAST. Simply click on the subject you are interested in finding content for and Discovery Education content is now included in search results you receive.
In the coming weeks, we will be transitioning current Discovery Education Integration customers over to the updated version. If you would like to ensure your district is on the schedule to be migrated over, or would like to add Discovery Education Integration, please give us a call.
